How about that NL Playoff Race

Post by frankum »

Look at this playoff race. 4 games to go. Will this be a league record? A team with at least 113 wins will miss the playoffs. Has this ever happened before? Anyone know?

Current Standings
1. Brookyln 116-42
2. New York 115-43
3. St. Louis 113-45

It comes down to the final series. Brooklyn has easy street. New York and St. Louis play each other AT New York. Whoa boy.

Most wins without a playoff appearance for Washington was 2079. 108 wins.

The reigning champs must now sweep the Immies in NY in order to force a one game playoff for the wild card spot. My oh my. Brooklyn is locked into playoff spot but NYN can still potentially overcome him and take home field if they get some wins against STL.

Folks, this is why we play the game.

Best of luck.

Here we go again, 16-6 three way.
