Any Suggested Rule CHanges and HOF Admin

Post by Maze » Mon Jul 01, 2019 1:25 pm

As Commish,

Asking to submit any type of change or adjustments to debate. Like a new HOF admin, … or one of me favorites (switching to Injury #4). Please send in and after a week or so, will take the serious ones and place them up for voting. Since we have a few new owners, it's a good time to hear from the league.

I would be down for the 55 win minimum rule. If you dont reach at least 55 wins in a season you go up 5 places in the standings.

What about a live lottery system like they do in the NBA? We would have to figure out how to do it live so everyone could see the random draw, but it may be cool. The team in last place still has the best chance at getting the number one overall pick, but the person 7th in the standings could also get the #1 pick. Just could be something different. If we do it right then it would be very rare that the World Series winner would ever get the #1 overall pick, but there is still a chance. It would making trading draft picks exciting because even though you may be trading the 16th overall pick in reality it could be much better.

FYI, I am not saying I want to do this. I just want to explore and talk through the pros and cons of it.

Could you imagine the outrage if a WS winner got the pick? Normally a lottery system only gives the non playoff teams a chance to get a better pick.

Either way, I'm not in favor of some arbitrary win total to punish teams. 55 wins isn't necessarily the same as someone's else's 45 wins, or whatever number you want to pick. Why should a team that wins 54 games in a tough division that has 5 or 6 teams competing for the playoffs get punished, while the team that wins 45 in the other division with only 2 or 3 good teams, gets bumped up to the #1 pick?

1.System 3 with Var. Development system 4 injuries
2. Lottery Draft for non play-off team with no win/loss penalty

I can see why people wouldn't want to use the 55 win system. Tanking is a good way of building a good team and it's been used effectively here and in other leagues. Boston had several last places finishes before having one of the best teams in the leagues. I just thought if tanking is a strategy it would be fun to try and get as close to 55 wins instead of 30 or 40 wins and have a penalty if you dont. I am fine either way

Another suggestion would be the system that effects improvements by winning percentage.

Just so I am clear since I am not sure if it's clear. The 55 win total punishment would be for every team under 55 wins.

Define tanking? I'd be interested in hearing your expert opinion on the matter. Your roster is less talented than most of my last place finishes.

If you want to eliminate tanking and/or complete tear down rebuilds, then you should implement a wheel draft system (soggy and I play in that system in the FRL). Otherwise you just have people trying to get as close as possible to 55 or whatever number wins you want to use.
