Arizona choose Dan Bandenburg http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=12634471 as the #1 pick. In hindsight, it looks like Arizona made the correct choice as the catcher has made nine all-star teams, more than anyone else in his draft class. He also has the most all-star votes, at bats and service time of anyone drafted in 2216. Dan the man has 322 homers and is still tying his cleats today, albeit for Baltimore.

Teagan Duarte of Anaheim was the second overall pick and the first pitcher off the board. He had a very undistinguished career with a 4.95 ERA and a losing record of 45-72.

There were four first round busts in Dax Lowery (NYN), Lance Bohen (tex), Pedro Chapman (SF), and Luis Saez (KC)

Matt Duffie (NYA), Arlie Irwin (Fla) and Nathan Jeffers (Cin( were the only other first rounders to rack up more than one all-star appearance and all three of those masters of the bat had at least five times in the mid-summer classic.

The best pick out of the first round with Arizona's Hipoloto Davis at #17. He has the second most all-star votes behind Dan the Man.

One undrafted player, Chris Clutterbuck, managed to make the majors. He had a couple of terrible seasons with Detroit to help Todd keep his total wins down in a rebuilding time.

Tom Baker ended up A overall but never found a role where he’d be a solid all star candidate. Went in the middle of the first round.

I have been pleased with Duff, one of my few productive picks
