Playoff structure

Post by NDPAF » Mon Nov 06, 2017 11:18 am

The game guide says for 24-team leagues, the top team in each division gets a bye in the first round of the playoffs and the next two teams are the wildcards who play each other...Is that wildcard matchup a 1 game play-in or a 7-game series?

From game guide:

"24-team league playoff structure
In 24-team leagues, there is an additional playoff round at the beginning of the playoffs, the Division Series. Each division winner earns a playoff spot in the Division Series. The next two teams in each league take the two wildcard spots. The division winner with the best record is seeded against the wildcard with the second best record (Seed 1 vs Seed 4) and the division winner with the second best record plays the wildcard with the best record (Seed 2 vs Seed 3)."

I've played in 24 team league before (and still play in beta). What happens is the follow:
No team gets bye, the winner of each division are seeded in the post season as #1 and #2, the two teams with best records in each league (can be teams from the same division) are seeded as #3 and #4.
In the ALDS: #4 at #1 and #3 at #2.
All series are best of 7.

Right now (09-23) it would be:
New York (#4 - 94 wins) @ Seattle (#1 - 106 wins)
Toronto (#3 - 95 wins) @ Boston (#2 - 90 wins)

Arizona (#4 - 88 wins) @ New York (#1 - 97 wins)
St Louis (#3 - 92 wins) @ Miami (#2 - 95 wins)

Thanks for the clarification....probably should have sought clarification before I started resting regulars, as I'm only 3 games out of a WC spot!

You are 2 games out now, maybe you can still go to the post season ;)
