Pittsburgh LHP Rickey McMullen went 6 1/3 innings of no-hit pitching before allowing a single to SF's Dewey Walker. He was pulled immediately for Turk Rudi, who worked 1 2/3 of hitless ball, and Pete Roman closed out the 9th 1-2-3.

McMullen walked 3 and didn't strike out a single Dragon. His curveball and slider kept SF's hitters off balance all evening, allowing his 92 MPH fastball to look mighty sweet when he chose to throw it. That led to lots of pop ups and flyballs finding the Caesars gloves. Rudi came in throwing heat, topping 99-100 on his fastballs. Roman looked like the Fireman of the Year he was 2 seasons ago in shutting down the Dragons in the 9th.

The Caesars' team ERA is down over a run from last year. If their staff can keep this up, they will be in contention all season.
