Perseverance

Post by Todibus »

Lefthand pitcher Ted Higdon was drafted with the 75th pick out of Appalachian State in 2018 and couldn't make a ML team out of spring training. He played in independent leagues and overseas for 14 years before finally getting a shot to play in the majors, with Seattle in 2031. He went 1 inning, giving up 5 hits and 4 runs. He was promptly back to the bushes until the Cyclones, in desperation, brought him up as a (basically) 34 year old rookie. On July 6, 2033 he earned the first save of his career.

Fun that you track that! With 3 blown saves it doesn't look like he's a challenger anytime soon for ROY; however, not many people can say they have a major league save on their resume. Congrats!
