MVP who did not even make the All-Star Team!

Manuel Ayers

He won the MVP this year but because he didn't steal enough bases or hit enough homers, he was only the 3rd best catcher in the NL this season!

Both of these catchers had better years but did not play for a playoff team and were thus penalized:

Frankie Morlan

Fenton Lamb

Crazy!

I think the electorate made the right call (at least among the catchers). Give me that .950 OPS any day. The only knock I'd have against Ayers is playing fewer games than the other two guys.
