Philadelphia took game two of their series 3-2 in another pitching duel between starting pitchers George Adams and John Edwards.

Adams made his first start since being acquired from Milwaukee and paid immediate dividends by going eight innings giving up three hits and one run striking out nine and walking three. He is 1-0.

Edwards went the distance in the loss, which dropped him to 1-4. He allowed seven hits and three runs, struck out five and walked two.

As they did in game one, Montreal took the early lead on a 3rd inning single by Mike Griesenbeck, who stole second base (4th), and scored on a single by Aaron Baines.

Philadelphia answered in the bottom of the 3rd inning. Wally Bullinger hit his fourth homerun leading off the inning. Edwards walked T.J. Steinbach, Danny Vernon single to center sending Steinbach to third base where he scored on Ryan Barber's double to center field to put Philadelphia ahead 3-1 in route to a 3-2 victory.

Tim Bullett garnered his second save in the series and third of the season.
