Cleveland is hosting the first place Washington Senators in a three game series that is level at a game apeace after two games. Game one went to Cleveland 5-1.

Game two..............

Washington 7 Cleveland 1

Israel Geraghty (2-0) went all nine innings, struck out nine, walked one, and allowed one run on six hits over the nine innings. Geraghty has one complete game this season and a nifty 2.16 ERS on a staff with a collective 2.90 ERA (3D in the league)

The Senators regulars are hitting .277 which also ranks thrid in the league. Although not a power laden club the homerun got them off to a good start in this one. Tom Hanyzewski hit his 2nd with one on and one out in the 1st inning off Otis Montgomery (0-2).

Cleveland socred its lone run in the 6th inning on two two-out doubles by Alex Compton and Bob Brantley that narrowed the socre to 2-1.

The Senators chased Montgomery in the 7th inning (6.1 innings 9 hits and 5 runs).

Montgomery ran into trouble by walking the first two batters in the inning; pinch hitters John Murray and Lonnie Noojin. Hanyzewski flied out to deep right field. One out. Antonio Pugh dropped a soft single into right field loading the bases. Cleveland changed pitchers bringing in Bob Hartsock.

Chuck DeJohn, the first batter he faced, doubled driving in two runs (Murray and Noojin). Catcher Rod Alexander singled in Pugh with the third run. Alexander stole second base. Brown grounded to third for the second out (DeJohn scored). Matt Garrbella doubled him in Alexander with run number five.

At the end of this inning the Senators led 7-1 and that was the final score.
