Random manager preferences

Post by BabyDoc »

The two Teds have been my co-closers since I joined this league three seasons ago. But apparently, at the start of last season's playoffs, Sim-D decided that was not the way to go.
I noticed today that Joe Hollingsworth, who is in the setup slot, has gotten most of my save opportunities so far this season. So I checked last season's playoffs and found that Randy Messersmith, who was in the setup slot at the time, was used as the closer in the playoffs. (Thankfully, he performed very well, so this did not taint the playoffs!)
So next, I checked my manager preferences and they were senselessly haphazard, including calling for the use of the setup man in the most critical situations. I guarantee you that this was not my doing- this was SimDynasty's foul-up. Anyone not convinced, simply review the stats of the two Teds and decide whether I had them in the co-closers roles for the past three seasons:

I'm now reviewing other pitcher settings and finding that they are not the way I expected.
TL-DR: I urge everyone to check your manager preferences settings. They may have changed themselves.

They were probably tired.

They were not tired. In fact, the two Teds did not pitch at all during the entire World Series, including save situations in Games 3 and 4- both of which were given to Messersmith.
The actual "manager preferences" were scrambled, and ABE obeyed the scrambled settings.
