Chasing Mendoza

Post by ratman44 »

Is his name Mike or maybe we should call him Steve.

50 games in and hitting .165, it was worse but he has gone 5 of his last 16.

I guess someone has to make outs but for him to be this poor is crazy.

I'm in a surprisingly similar boat here.

I know the NL has some decent pitching but B+/A+ guys are normally decent hitters. Hernandez even has more speed. I guess ABE is down on the pure power hitters in the first 1/3 of the season.

I also get that you need guys to make outs as Jeltz is the clean up hitter vsR and 5th vsL and the 3 guys ahead of him vsR are hitting, 313, .320, and .340. Then vs left it is those 3 guys and a guy hitting .380. I keep wanting to move him but I feel like the law of averages will catch up at some point and he will go on a tear to bring his average back up to .270+ where it belongs.

He crossed.200 in game 84. But now he is walking the line.

Steve Jeltz fun fact: only 5 career home runs, however he homered from both sides of the plate in one game

and now, as of 8/5/2036, fans of Mike Jeltz (.225/.278/.445) are stuffing the ballot box, making him an all-star starter

I was just going to note that, he did hit 6 home runs in 4 games, he hit 2 in back to back games. That just tells you how poor the 2B in the NL are.
