Trade Protest suggestion

Post by abarkov »

I would like to propose that people filing trade protests provide a specific reason for the protest. This reason should then be included in the trade protest message posted on the leagues message board. The anonymity of the person making the protest would still be protected.

I have been in leagues where two owners simply did not like one another or the strategy the other used to play SimD and filed Trade Protests just because of this. So I'm not sure if this would be helpful. (To avoid things such as, "because ballmark is a giant jerk" kind of reason.)

I would be okay with a predetermined # of responses, such as:

o Trade is unfair to (Team 1) <--- dynamic field based on teams involved
o Trade is unfair to (Team 2) <--- the other team
o Owners have a history of unfair trades
o C'mon, this was supposed to be MY YEAR!
o Other

Not that exact wording, of course, but you see where I'm going with this.

That sounds good Ballmark. Would just like to get a general idea of why the protest was made.

If this option was included along with the standard text box we have now, I think that would be an improvement.

The pre-built reason box is a good idea.

How about we drop trade protests? If someone makes a mistake, let them learn from it. Such is life.

After 2 trade protests that manager is locked out for the rest of that season. As mentioned above some managers simply don`t like others. Sadly it seems some of those don`t like anyone.

Giving reasons for protest is a great thing to add.
