Post by lgcrowder67 »

The American League race got a little closer with the developments over the last two games. Minnesota edge first place Kansas City 5-3 at home.

Former Seattle Mariner Jake Martinez (5-1) picked up the win in relief as the league's top closer George Fernandez blew his fourth save in 19 opportunities.

Pretzel Russo hit a walk off three run homerun off Fernandez before a celebratory sell out crowd in Minneapolis. Russo had five runs batted in the game including a RBI infield single in the first inning.
