Elliott allowed a lead off single to Carl Mitchell in the second but struck out Bob Knox and Willie Rajsich grounded into a double play.

Toronto contiued to give Elliott trouble in the 3rd. Tom Cullen singled with one out and stile second ase. Gary Watson's double to cenrer field plated the third Toronto run with only one out. Elliott got out of any further trouble by getting Turk on a liner to second baseman Danny Bush and Walker to ground out weaky to Bush.

Wyatt was forced out by hardy who fielded Elliott hard bunt back to the mound and threw to shortstop Bobby Walker. A hard slide into Walker by Wyatt spoiled any chance of a double play.
