Chicago White Sox Look to Add One or Two Star Players

Sources close to the Chicago White Sox General Manager report that the team is considering adding one or two star pieces at the trade deadline. Despite patience from ownership during the team's long rebuild, rumors abound that ownership expects to field a winner in the next one or two seasons. A senior official in the GM's office suggested that reigning AL ROY Alan Olerud would be available in a deal for a star starting pitcher, OS29 or younger. Future draft picks, including in the first round, are reportedly on the table as well. Chicago is making its intent known league-wide, hoping to secure some solid offers.

With a young core of position players in the key developmental years, and a trio of starting pitchers who are underperforming their red-letter ratings, Chicago should be close to contending for a playoff spot. The GM reportedly just hopes that he can secure reinforcements before his time with the team runs out.
