Kenders Fires (Assisted) 1-Hitter vs. New York

In an effort not to be outdone by his teammate Mark Lemongello, Jim Kenders gave up just one hit in the Red Nuns 16-0 victory over a tough New York Spartans lineup. Fred Habenicht led off the 4th with a double, and Kenders doled out two free passes but struck out 11 over 8 brilliant innings. Rookie Moxie Hibbs came on in the 9th to complete the shutout. Kenders is a Cy Young Award frontrunner with a sparkling 14-5 record and 2.67 ERA.
