That's a spicy meatball! And I don't think it's a stretch to say he'll have multiple opportunities for that ring.
Re: Jack Fennelly racks up the hardware.
Always amazed me how you can be MVP but only all star reserve. Great player at only 23!!
Re: Jack Fennelly racks up the hardware.
Barring any position change or trade to the other league, it should be quite the fun competition between Fennelly and Suppan at NL 1B over the next 11+ seasons.
Both only 23. A big health advantage for Suppan, but check out their peripherals this season... almost identical!

Once Montreal shores up its pitching, those 2 will be battling for the division crown as well. Competition always brings out the best!!!
Re: Jack Fennelly racks up the hardware.
Kudos to Fennelly!! No doubt a perennial all-star to be!
His season reminds me of when Paul Schaller broke into the league and was leading the MVP race until he faded in the last couple of weeks, setting for ROY and first-team All-Star.
Schaller just hit his first declines, which I always hate to see, so his last season might be his last legit run at another MVP award. He ended up leading the league in hits for the 4th year in a row, scoring 113 runs and driving in 116, while hammering 38 HR's.
Hopefully he has enough left in the tank to reach 3,000 hits; time will tell.
