I realized I totally misunderstood your original comment, Michael1. Sorry about that. I now understand you were saying that giving candidates 15 tries to get in is excessive. I don't really disagree. In fact, no one has ever appeared on more than 3 ballots since I've been running this because they were cut by the previously stringent 33% survival requirement.

Unless others strenuously object, let's reduce the number of ballot tries but also the threshold for survival. Let's say 5 ballots but 12.5% minimum vote total to survive (which means you have to get at least 2 votes if more than 8 owners cast ballots). This should make for more interesting debate over a shorter period.

If this new standard causes anyone who's already voted to want to change their ballot, just drop a new reply in the voting thread indicating that.
