So my A Overall Rated Closer not only can't get a darn save, he can't even get a darn out. At this point I'm considering just not bringing in any relief pitchers. At least then the fact that they are failing miserably I can blame it on fatigue.
Good luck to Minnesota and Seattle once again. Meanwhile, Boston will be glad to pick 10th once again next season.
Seriously, I've seen B+ overall closers pitch better. One in my other league saved like 80 straight over 2 seasons before blowing 2 at the end of last season. Ed McGhee
Meanwhile, Crowell puts out this garbage:

Re: WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And this is why I hate teardowns. Seriously, 3 future HOFers for 4 #13-16 overall draft picks. I get that machoking has the right do as he pleases, but I wish the NL would get their s*** together. It is impossible to compete when we have competent owners over here in the AL and the rich keep getting richer.
As for why I didn't make a play for Watt, Rosenthal, and Williams? Because they were worth so much more than they were sold for! I'm rooting ArizonaBot to dominate in the NL for the next 5 years. We just got rid of compton; did we really need to F up the competitiveness so soon???
I get that the new normal is to assemble super-teams like Houston was for the last 5 years and Seattle is currently, but maybe that might be a sign that all of these selling teams shouldn't sacrifice their talent for 2 nickels and a penny every time.

Re: WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hopefully Rutner helps your bullpen a bit. I hate to let him go, but didn't really have a place for him on the roster.
I definitely feel like your is better than it's record. Sorry for the bad luck. Maybe progression to the mean is incoming?

You can't stop Steve Kellett ... you can only hope to contain him.05/03/2030 CHA 0 1 0 0 0 0.2 3 1 1 1 0 6.00 13.50

Yeah, I appreciate picking up Rutner. Myers is a grade above him and Crowell has 2 grades up on him, and yet they are the chumps and Rutner just keeps getting the job done. It's Rutner's job to lose now.mwcmerrill wrote: ↑Mon Nov 26, 2018 8:36 am Hopefully Rutner helps your bullpen a bit. I hate to let him go, but didn't really have a place for him on the roster.

Also, what the hell is going on with Catchers this season? Your guy in Minnesota has been a freaking disaster: John Foor
You have any clue? Meanwhile, my rookie catcher with an 86 arm has started the season with an awful 6/38 baserunners caught. At least when my former veteran catcher was getting torched it was because his arm hovered at B+ territory before barely turning red near the end of his improves.
Thanks for the encouragement. I don't think we have much of a shot this season, but I'm not about to rebuild. I'm pleased with most of my young bats, and I do feel good about Melton's chances at Catcher. Because of the catcher shortage in the recent drafts, Boston hasn't had a half-decent offensive or defensive backstop since Scott Ian's 2024.

Re: WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You joke, but your guys do seem to always get to my pitchers. Especially my right-handers. Token Blackmon hit .221 against RHP last season, but he ends up being the real hero of that May the 2nd game. Once he got the 3rd consecutive single to left field (seriously, what the heck? was Tony Brown drunk during that game???), Kellett could have literally won it with a GIDP. I have my doubts about Blackmon, but with his speed and power, he could go for a 50/50 season.
Re: WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would trade Token hitting .100 against your team if he would hit like Short Round does against the rest of the league.
Token: C/A+ against RH'ers, B-/A+ against lefties, A+ speed at OS24.
Short Round: C/A+ against RH'ers, B-A+ against lefties, A+ speed at OS33.
Now that is a serious WTF?!

Re: WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I apologize for the recent trade deal I made with Houston....i was reluctant at first to make an offer to Houston for any players(really I was only wanting derringer for my future catcher but Toronto was able to acquire)..I honestly did offer a greater deal package to Houston for several other players including Rosenthal however is on the Minnesota roster now.
I do understand the frustrations of being competitive and as much as I like many of the NL owner i have observed for many seasons other Teams from both the AL and NL...the development of the NL has baffled me for many seasons.
I will gladly reverse my trade deal for Johnny Williams to help maintain balance

Re: WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will not apologize. Players are only worth what others are willing to give for them. I will gladly reverse any trade you want. I gave everyone in this league 2 weeks to make offers on my players. My team is on the down slide and the rebuild process is my favorite part of this game. I may be jumping the gun on selling off my players, but I am just moving on to the next process of the game. There is a way to veto any trade and if you do not believe it is fair then follow the process.
Re: WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But, but, but, Washington lost to a DynastyBot in the 2022 World Series.I'm rooting ArizonaBot to dominate in the NL for the next 5 years.
