I have to redo the standings records but that is by far the longest streak of futility I have ever seen in any league.

and are 1-40 dating back to 7/29/1987 OMG!!

Which he would not have had in Atlanta. Washington has been in most of 38 its lost. So it is not a bad team. Just unlucky.

The biggest thing Averick could do to stop the streak is cut all those geezers over 35 and put in his minor league replacements. It is September you have twelve games left you can win some of them if you put in younger bodies. Unless you just want to lose 63 straight games and set a near unbreakable futility record.
