Post by larrysiegfried20 »

Oakland is off to a 8-0 start this season. The A's are batting .284, 4th in the league with 12 homeruns, (4th) 48 runs scored (3rd) and 15 stolen bases (1st) with a 2,71 ERA for the pitching staff, which did go up after their 10-9 victory over Washington.

The Oakland team record for consecutive wins to open the season is 12.

The A's defeated Los Angeles 10-7 at home in game two of a three game series.

The A's scored twn runs on ten hits while LA out hit them with twelve hits and committed the games only error.

The hitting carried the day for Oakland in this game and specifically homerun hitting was the difference maker.

Los Angeles hit five, two by Lew Ludwig who has four homerun now all off Oakland pitching and Don Miller hit three in the game to give him four for the season.

Oakland hit only three. Catcher Mike Pena, hit his second in the 5th inning, off Los Angeles starting pitcher Doc Wilson (LP 0-1). It was the biggest blow as it came with the bases loaded.

First baseman Ernie Morton hit his first, a solo in the 6th. Third base man George DiPino hit his first, another solo homer in the 7th.
