New All Time Sack Leader

Post by Cueball899 »

Ed Ward from Buffalo retired last season, 2030, with 188 career sacks. The All-time leader before that was DT Cortez Times with 176 sacks set in 1974. That record stood for 54 seasons before being broken. I never thought it would happen.

Out of the top 12 all-time sack leaders, 10 of them retried in the 1970's. The #12 ranked player is DE T.J. Pucillo from Houston with 144 sacks who retired in 2017.

The highest active all time sack leader is DT Mark Zinny from L.A. with 113 sacks at the age of 36.

Congrats to Ed Ward and Buffalo.

*shakes head*

If I knew Mark Zimmy would have lasted eight years after I traded him and would have accomplished all that I never would have made that deal. Damn he's 36.

The record I don't see ever being broken is the all-time rushing TD's record. Richard Coakley finished his career with 245 rushing touchdowns in 170 games, 139 games as a starter. That is an average of 1.44 rushing touchdowns per game. The second highest is Vince Sayers with 160 rushing touchdowns. This record was set in 1971 and has stood for 60 years/seasons. Coakley also had 3 receiving TD's and 13 punt return TD's.
