Brady, in addition to having a good outing on the mound, went three for three at the plate, scored a run and drove in two runs.

Anaheim took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Brady allowed a lead off single to Juan Gomez who stole second base. Gomez advanced to third base on a ground out to second by Gaylord Throckmorton and scored on a ground out to shortstop by Santos Dominguez. Jeff Connolly singled but was left on base when Jeff Nichols struck out.

Neither team scored again until the Senators erupted for five runs in the seventh inning. Lee Neihoff walked Steve Rigney to start the inning. Dick Walters followed with a single, sending Rigney to third, and then stole second, joining Walters in scoring position. Pinch hitter Wally Dowd ground out to third base. The runners could not advance. Another pinch hitter, John Bracken, walked to load the bases. Hal Knepper grounded out to third and Rigney scored tying the game. The other runners advanced to second and third. Pitcher Willard Brady came through with the biggest hit of the game, a two run single that scored Walters and Bracken pitting Washington ahead 3-1. Jim Knothe followed with a double and Van Brucker singled in two runs to cap off the scoring. Washington 5 Anaheim 1.

Anaheim Added two runs over the final three innings for a 5-3 final.
