The homers allowed list

Post by jacktoast »

Homeruns allowed is a stat that is not listed in the regular pitching statistics. You have to go to the opponents batting on the pitcher's stats to find it.

If you are at all curious about what pitchers have been prone to the gopher ball -- here are the top 11 ;

1st … Mike Marion, Anaheim; -- 18 in 100.2 innings pitched

Cuke Klimkowski, Toronto; --- 14 in 96.2 innings pitched.

3rd ... Joe Kress, Baltimore; (injured) 13 in 98.0 innings pitched

4th ... Marshall Ashford, Anaheim; -- 12 in 50.0 innings pitched

5th ... Chris Jones, Toronto; --- 12 in 77.2 innings pitched

6th … Dave Berenyi, New York; --- 12 in 83.0 innings pitched

7th … Dick Smartwood, Seattle; --- 12 in 101.2 innings pitched

8th … Dick Anderson, Oakland; --- 12 in 107.1 innings pitched

9th … Arnold Guante, Oakland; --- 11 in 105.0 innings pitched

10th … Dave Hersh, Tampa; --- 11 in 59.0 innings pitched

11th … Dick Goff, Baltimore; 11 in 110.0 innings pitched

I did not list them by percentage per innings pitched. It would seem that Ashford of Anaheim, Berenyi of NY and Hersh of Tampa are both getting taken deep on a frequent basis.
