Angels 6 New York 0

Steve Secrist (WP 6-5) pitched his second complete game shutout of the season. The Angels finished the season series with New York with a 9-3 record, with 53 runs scored and 39 allowed (+18). Anaheim has a 28-5 home record with 50 wins on the season and 19 defeats.

Secrist allowed just three singles in the game and one walk. The first two hits were both by Oscar Gload, a lead off single in the 3rd, and a two out single in the 6th. Secrist walked Wayne Romano with two outs in the 7th and the final hit came with two outs in the 8th by Chris Dillard.

Anaheim scored four runs in the third inning off New York starting pitcher Dave Berenyi. Secrist singled to start the inning. Gilhooley was called out on strikes. Don Lary beat out an infield single that pitcher Dave Berenyi fielded up the third base line but could not make a throw. Paul Dillon singled to right field to load the bases. Jim Nixon walked with the bass loaded. Kearns grounded into a force out at home erasing Lary at the plate. Les Raydon's double cleared the bases giving Anaheim a 4-0 lead.

Dana Andrews gave up a run in the 8th to make it 5-0 when Paul Dillon singled and Tom Kearns doubled. David Marquard singled by Kearns was thrown out at the plate by right fielder Oscar Gload.
