Not bad for a waiver wire pickup

Post by Hamilton2 » Sat Apr 11, 2020 4:13 pm

RP Diomedes Erickson is approaching the end of his career in style as a 3-time World Series champion. But it started ingloriously, as he was drafted with the final pick of the 2nd round and then waived by San Francisco. While he isn't Quinn Colson in the postseason, Erickson's career numbers are 15 appearances, 30 2/3 innings, a single run allowed for a 0.29 ERA. He went 1-0 with 6 saves and 1 blown save through 5 LCS and 4 WS. Not a bad career at all.

I love those stories, among my faves from the Miracles is Marvin McCray, drafted 78th overall, pitches in 644 games, has 7 seasons with an ERA below 3, makes an All Star team finishes with a career WHIP of 1.15 and an ERA of 3.11 and stands 5th all time in saves in LA team history
