First time All Stars

Post by tworoosters »

The 2013 season may have been a collective failure for the LA Miracles but seven of our players were honoured with selection to the National league All Star team. Five of the seven were repeat All Stars but two were first time selections:

Reb McCarthy followed up a mediocre rookie season with a sensational sophomore year. McCarthy hit for a slash of .324/.423/.467, lead the BHL in doubles, walks and OBP while playing 148 games.

Herm Schappert had a little longer wait to make his first All Star team, the veteran 3rd round pick in 2102 had a "year for the ages" going 19-9 with a 1.13 whip, an ERA of 3.31 and 212 punchouts to finish 2nd overall in NL All star voting for starting pitchers
