Triple indeed...

Post by meat1968 »

Mark Smalley, at this time, is .03 % points away from one of the most hallowed single season accomplishments...the Triple Crown.

I don't know that I've had one before in SD. Anyone??? I'm sure it's happened, just can't remember hearing about it.

HR: 31 (6 > 2nd place)

RBI: 108 (16 > 2nd place)

AVG: .325 (.01 < 2nd place & .03 < 1st place)

Gotta jump over two dudes to get there and maintain the other two.

Luckily, the SD Gods will read this and send his season into a tailspin of epic proportions. I probably should just sit at the end of the bench and shut my mouth...

147 RBIs

.349 avg

The next season he went first second second

Nice little two year run

thanks for the feedback. I don't think I've ever witnessed 50 jacks in a season, let alone the 3-crown. Assume that Amos Otis bloke went into the hall on the first ballot

I am sure in the history of the game there are better, but I hated this dude in the CFL.

Then I had the triple crown in the CFL last year but it was my leadoff hitter hit .346 while the 3 hole guy only hit .332 with 50 HR and 146 RBI. I don’t think I ever had a true triple crown guy.

It is also tough because the levels of pitching between the 2 Leagues could be different. Plus the ballparks in one league might be easier than the other.
