Record Watch

Post by ratman44 »

Ummm...the single season HR record is 54 set in 1953. That record is in jeopardy based off of the start of Chicago Outfit Mark Smalley who has 19 in 42 games. He is on pace to surpass 60. It is a little premature as I say a guy hit 42 by half way only to end up with only 57 in another league. But still an amazing start.

I was originally looking to see what the SB record was, as the 2 time defending SB champ pilfered number 21, in game 42. He is on pace for 81, which would best the mark set by Pete Dunbar in 1977 of 73.

Let's keep an eye on the record books as we go here.

If you have not already please vote on the HOF ballot

...and Smalley hasn't hit a jack in 7 games.

Thanks for the jinx bro, next time why don't you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it (movie reference...anyone?)

I will not say it outright but I will say this.

Smalley is only mostly dead.
