2021 HOF Ballot

Post by mhollidaze »

TO RECAP:
So after taking over this process from Big Rich I thought I could make some changes to help the process. As it played out through the season I did not complete getting all the info I needed so here we are into the next season. What I talked to Big Rich about was to try and get the ballot closer to the date of retirement. Right now our ballot is running about 12 seasons behind the season we are playing in. I would like to get it closer to 5 seasons out. To accomplish that I will start this season with 2 HOF Ballots. 2020 will be the first half of the season and then 2021 in the second. If I do this for the next 8 seasons or so we should accomplish what I feel will get us closer. The 2035 Ballot should be out in 2040. Hope everyone is ok with this. I hope we can get 100% participation. One thing I would like to add, if you don't see anyone you think deserves to enter the HOF then stat so on you ballot as No Votes. This will give us your vote to account for toward the total number of votes we get in and we'll know you just didn't vote.

On to the 2020 Ballot no players had enough votes to carry over so we have all new nominees. Just because a player is listed here does not mean I think they belong in the HOF. You the voters decide that. I am just listing the best of that I think for that year and we can remember their accomplishments at least, even if they do not get into the HOF. (If a candidate is in the top 75 of all time in any stat I will list same to help your decision process.) If you know of any player that retired in 2021 that you think I might have missed please bring it to my attention. They are also listed in no particular order so please scroll down and look at all before you vote.

Any candidate receiving votes on seventy-five percent (75%) of the ballots cast shall be elected to membership in the BWL Hall of Fame. If a candidate fails to get in but receives at least 50% of the votes cast they will remain on next years ballot.
The next ballot will be posted at the Start of the Season ahd will close after Game 54, 5/31/2032. I will post results soon after. The 2nd Ballot will be posted on Game 108 8/1/2032. The 2nd Ballot will close after Game 162 10/1/2012. I will post the results soon after. This format will continue for the next 8 seasons or so until we get caught up. Hope this works for everybody. If you have a problem let me know. I hope we can get 100% participation.

Thanks,
Mike

Sorry I had not posted earlier. At first I did not vote because in the past I tended to vote later on the HOF as being the commissioner I did not want to influence other voters and I was stuck in that habit. Later during Christmas and New Years I just got busy. Detroit votes for:

Lefty Levesque

There were a couple of players that were all stars for several years that I considered voting for as being the best of the period they played in, but the HOF comparison I am most concerned about is how they match up vs people already in the HOF and Lefty gets my vote.

Lévesque

His peak was shorter than what I normally like to see from a HOFer... but 13th in all-time ERA gets him in

and yes, sorry sorry sorry. You put a lot of work into this, and I meant to come back many times to complete this, but this morning set my alarm clock 15 minutes early to "make it so". Thanks for all the hard work, it really is appreciated even though its not shown enough.
