2019 HOF Ballot

Post by BigRich »

Like the 2018 HOF Ballot this has been a long time coming. That Ballot closed in early Jan. and on Feb. 6th my wife had surgery and has had 2 surgeries since then. Nothing life threatening but I was doing nurse type work for her and going to the doctors for awhile. Plus in my down time I got lazy, wanting to play and have fun and not do the stat work of being a commissioner. I still enjoy the game but not as much as I once did. Anyway my apologies for being so tardy in posting this. If anyone wants to be commissioner I am more that willing to let them step up and give it a try. Now on to the 2019 Ballot. No players had any votes on the 2018 Ballot so no carry overs from same. Just because a player is listed here does not mean I think they belong in the HOF. You the voters decide that. I am just listing the best of that year and we can remember their accomplishments at least, even if they do not get into the HOF. (If a candidate is in the top 75 of all time in any stat I will list same to help your decision process.) If you know of any player that retired in 2019 hat you think I might have missed that should be on the ballot please bring it to my attention. They are also listed in no particular order so please scroll down and look at all before you vote.

Any candidate receiving votes on seventy-five percent (75%) of the ballots cast shall be elected to membership in the BWL hall of fame. If a candidate fails to get in but receives at least 50% of the votes cast they will remain on next years ballot. Owners here are the best players from 2019. Ballot will close after the WS is over. Gives us enough time to vote and then I can get to work on another ballot to try to catch us up more.

Rich, I remember when you came to SimD in the Willie Mays League, I think. I was in the middle of winning a couple of championships and you were so full of questions and trade offers. I knew I wasn't one of the elite owners there mattyb500 was who I looked up to and many others. When you started sending me your excel spreadsheets to monitor the skill sets I knew you were better than me but luck also plays into this game as well as real life MLB.

I'm kind of like you. I was in 3 leagues and just dropped 1. I'm staying in the BWL but going through some medical issues of my own and not quit as gun ho as I once was.

Good luck to your wife I'm sure things will work out. It seems at our age a lot of our friends and ourselves have things going on, but we'll get through this.
Good Luck Rich. I'm sue there is someone in this league who could help you out with the commish.

Thanks Mike for the kind words and encouragement. I take the wife back to the doctor next wed. and always hope for the best. I stopped doing the spreadsheets, as they were a lot of work, and not as serious about the game as I once was. I suspect atm I will see this rebuild thru Colonel Klink's eventual retirement or trade as I would like to see what he turns out to be, (Barring 43 day injuries) and then probably leave simdynasty. My friend Jhovi has left and he got me into the game and we shared a competitive dialogue that is now gone. Don't forget to vote on the HOF players though. I am holding off putting up my own voting for now to not sway others with my thoughts on who belongs in the HOF.

Surgeries are tough (I know from personal experience), but they are necessary and I hope your wife gets off the DL soon, thanks for all you do.

Boston votes:

Ken Kelly
Chuck Peasley
Brent Musser (slight hometown vote and he is a catcher)
David West
Dana Bogle (truncated career and hometown vote, he was huge in our run)

Thanks again and I hope you stick on as commish Rich!
