Re: James T. West Ties Single Season Homerun Record
Several hitters had outstanding seasons, including Baltimore 's Lew Zisk who won his fifth consecutive MVP; his sixth overall. Stl's Myers knocked JB Books out of the starting, all-star lineup late in a close race which should not have even been close at all. Myers had four more homeruns, 51 more rbi and batted two points lower. It is really hard understand why the vote was close. Cin's Link Appleyard's 48 homeruns would have made him the homeruns king in all but ten of the TML's 194 seasons. There were several other outstanding performances.
