Jim Hughes Watch
The great Jim Hughes signed a one year deal with Tampa Bay today in what will become a race to 3000. In what has become a tradition to bring in over the hill players chasing milestones (see Wade Boggs lol), Jim has signed with the hopes to eclipse the mark by season's end. Since Tampa needed a reason for people to buy tickets, Tampa's ownership felt it was a good fit to give Jim a starting role right away. 47 is the magic number, and it will also be Jim's uniform number Buy his special limited edition commemorative jersey today!!!

Good stuff. Hope he makes it!
Re: Jim Hughes Watch
Good luck to Hughes!
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Dogs have made Donovan Porter the minor league pitching coach, keeping him in the minors to not allow him to sign elsewhere. His statue will go up before the 2026 season, he is arguably the best to toe the rubber in the LAL:

Re: Jim Hughes Watch
I really need to check the waiver wire more often.
Re: Jim Hughes Watch
Jim has accomplished his goal and now has 3001 career hits. He has been "promoted" to "bench" coach and will be given an honorary assignment in the offseason. Congrats Jim for an amazing career.
