Three-time Cy Young Award winner Gussie Gergen has retired from the NY Highlanders after 266 career wins, 14 playoff appearances and two WS rings. Gussie's career included a three year span in which he went 66-15 with a WHIP of 1.14.
Retiring with Gussie is long-time ace Darren Uchrinscko; winner of 296 games with only 116 losses, five straight E.R.A. titles, 8 seasons of 22 or more wins, and a whopping SEVEN Cy Young awards.
Still on the team is 39 yr old Red Macko, a seven time all-star starter (230-107 career), drafted in the same draft as Uchrinscko, and a winner of his own Cy Young award when he went 22-3 with a league-leading 2.23 ERA (interesting how it matches his W/L).
Ray Sewell, the fourth stalwart of this once mighty staff, retired in 2035 with 219 wins, but no CYA. Sewell came close in 2030 with a 19-7 record and a league leading 2.29 ERA, and again in 2031 when he went 23-4 with a 2.17 E.R.A.
I miss these guys already.

Despite being computer bites it's amazing how players develop their own unique traits.

Not only a great pitching staff, but some great teams as well. It was one of the most difficult group of pitchers that ever challenged me as an owner, not to mention having to face Uchrichscko.
Re: Farewell to a Dynamic Duo
Uchrinscko was a beast. From 2025-2031, Charlie Greer was amazing yet still consistently behind Uchrinscko in award voting. I always looked forward to their match-ups.

Uchrinscko is unquestionably one of the top three pitchers in the long history of Cesar Cedeno.
