Impact of Drafting a Player Aged 28 or more

Post by LTJaeger »

Players aged 28 or more have no Minor League Options available to them. Fair enough.

My question is if you have a full Major League roster of 25, and draft a player aged 28, what happens? Does he displace one of your ML Roster players, or does he go directly into the waiver pool, or is he assigned to the minors since there aren't any available ML slots?

I haven't seen this discussed before, but I don't read the Forum discussions as often as I once did. Apologies if I'm repeating a previous thread.

They'll be placed into your minors immediately following the draft.

They just can't return to the minors without clearing waivers once you do promote them
