Game of the Week (Simbowl XC Sunday): British Columbia @ New Orleans

Post by luminafire »

The time for talk is over. The New Orleans REBELS last won a conference title in 2020 in a loosing Sim Bowl effort to Dexter Timberlake and the Buffalo Tigers. The British Columbia Brawlers have made it twice since that last New Orleans berth-- once in a 2030 loss to the disgraced Detroit Dynamos and recently in 2046 in a blow-out loss to the Washington Capitolists. The British Columbia Brawlers come into the game with the fourth ranked passing offense and #1 rush offense. They have, by far, the most touchdowns of the postseason with 12. The REBELS weren't a top 5 passing team but they had a decent passer rating at sixth place for the postseason. They come into the game with the sixth ranked rushing offense of the postseason. The REBELS too have the 2nd most sacks of the postseason but 1st place was British Columbia. After going 8-8 2 out of the past 3 years on New Orleans' side and the bitter taste of a recent championship loss on tha tounge of the Brawlers, the pressure is on for both of these franchises to perform. The deck looks stacked against Coach Monty but the fact that either of these franchises even made it to the title game speaks volumes. Interestingly, neither team in this year's championship game finished in the top 5 passer rating, rush yards, receiving yards, sacks, broken-up passes or interceptions. True parity at its finest. Let's hunker down for the big game as Sim Bowl XC is on: Joe Milton and the American Conference champions, the British Columbia Brawlers versus Michael Branton and the National Conference champions, the New Orleans REBELS!
