Why is Bill Slocumb not a better player?!

This guy is A+/A+ vs. both left and right (with A speed and not horrendous health), and yet...

Can anyone explain these results? He should be an MVP caliber player every year, and he's been very good, but short of that every year, even if we limit this to categories within his sole control (rate stats, 2B, HR, etc.). Granted, the C health caps him at about 139 games played, but he still easily gets 525 AB. Never 30 HR? Reaching 30 2B in his first two years and only once since? Really?

In fairness, his best year (2039) was injury shortened to 112 games (.987 OPS, .335 BA, 23 HR, 34 2B in only 451 AB), so that might have been good for MVP on a full season. Not that anyone can win it every year (other than Byron Kiner - http://simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player ... d=12546285), but Slocumb should be contending, and he's not. What gives?

I think he is low in his batting skill grades, so like low 90's and speed is probably at the bottom of that A.

Still he has a career OPS near .900 and that's with about a season and a half of under-performing.

I wish he had better stats!

He needs a change of scenery. He hates it in Baltimore. He wants to play in the Big Apple
