Playoffs 1987

Post by ttreese » Mon Mar 23, 2020 9:12 am

Congrats to all playoff teams. Another strong list of contenders.

Congrats to Montreal making playoffs and replacing last year's World Series runner-up NY Giants. Chicago Colts return for their third trip to post-season in last three years as well.

In the AL; congrats to KC Monarchs for a well fought season. While Anaheim had a solid hold on first place in the division; KC and Texas battled back and forth for the second spot all the way down to last game of season.

The last five championships have been won in the AL either by Texas or Anaheim. Previous two years were won in the NL by the NY Giants and Montreal True North.

Plenty of good history in the making here this postseason as the Colts look for their first WS win in new league and while Montreal and Anaheim look to reach 4 WS wins tying Texas for the league lead. Texas is looking to extend their lead and a 4th championship in last 6 years.

Should be an exciting post season. Stay tuned and good luck to all...

First game of the NLCS won by a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th!

And for the second year in a row, Texas makes quick work of the Dragons. Wasn't even close. Congrats again! Maybe we will figure out how to beat you guys in the future. Congrats to Montreal too. Good luck to both in the World Series.

Thanks! Always a battle against Anaheim. Was thankful my 3/4 pitchers held up and was able to rely on the aging #1 Destrade. Traded a lot to get him from LA back in 1979 but that built the base for the rest of the pitching staff. He's been a 7 time all-star and 3 time CY Young winner since the trade. The only two years he wasn't an all-star he went 31-14 with a sub 3.00 ERA. Huge performer...

Thanks guys; winning 4 out of 6 in this league means a lot. Not easy to do due to a lot of competitive owners. Good luck in the off-season and upcoming draft; let’s do it again. I am expecting two of my cornerstone pitchers to retire. New challenges.
